Requirements
All members must attend weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 8:00pm. All accepted
priority applicants are required to attend the Volunteer and Service Learning
Center’s retreat on January 24, 2009. Accepted members who meet the regular
deadline are required to attend a make up retreat.
Membership Positions
The LPC is actively recruiting members for the following positions. Brief
descriptions of these positions are as follows. Please remember that these
descriptions are not all-inclusive; members may be asked to take on more
tasks throughout the semester.
Administrative Director
Executive Board Position
- Recording minutes for all LPC and board meetings
- Aiding LPC application procedures
- Recording member attendance
Recruitment Director
Executive Board Position
- Recruiting new members
- Organizing information sessions
- Facilitating the member application process
Member-at-Large
- Provides overall support for the LPC
- Required to support other LPC members and smaller scale philanthropic projects
Financial Committee
- Generates sponsorships to fund LPC events from local and national companies, as well as alumni
- Builds and manages sponsorship relationships
Promotions Committee
- Creates a campus- and city-wide marketing campaign to generate interest in LPC events
- Provides support for philanthropic events
Logistics Committee
- Coordinates event details (such as venue reservations, entertainment, etc.)
- Takes strong leadership role on event days
